Launch of the Slopes Consortium Newsletter. The newsletter provides an overview of the lastest research headlines within the slopes group and will be released every three months.

As of 1st October - Alex Fordham has joined the team as a post-doctoral researcher. Alex has just completed her PhD on dryland rivers, and comes to us as a sedimentologist with considerable field experience

As of 14th January - Sacha Tremblay has left the group to work at Statoil's research centre at Trondheim

As of 15th January - Juan Pablo Milana has joined the turbidites team from the Universidad Nacional de San Juan, Argentina, as a Research Fellow. He is a sedimentologist, stratigrapher and glaciologist. He will be joining in field-work in Mexico and Argentina, and also undertaking experimental work on slope system development at the University of Marburg in Germany.

Our annual sponsors meeting was held at the Institute for Marine Geology (ISMAR), University of Bologna, Italy. The meeting was attended by sponsor companies and gave a review of all research work to date.

4 abstracts submitted and accepted for the upcoming AAPG International Convention 2006 in Perth.
