·Seismic Forward Modeling of Channel Elements

·The aim is to calibrate and understand the seismic images of turbidite channels. This will be achieved by simulating the seismic expression of observed channel architectures, by establishing the sensitivity of this expression to rock properties and the form of the seismic wavelet, and thus establishing diagnostic criteria for the identification of architectures that would conventionally be regarded as sub-seismic. This will enhance the interpretation of channels on actual seismic by calibrating the individual effects of channel shape, size and infill, and the choice of seismic wavelet on the seismic image.
